2013 Ford Taurus equipped 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine rated at 26 mpg city-highway

DETROIT -- The 2013 Ford Taurus, powered by Ford Motor Co.'s 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, has received an EPA certification of 32 mpg in highway driving and 22 mpg in city driving, for a combined city-highway rating of 26 mpg.

 DETROIT -- The Jeep Grand Cherokee will have a shortened 2013 model year so that in January Chrysler Group can introduce a diesel engine and eight-speed automatic transmission for the 2014 model, internal Chrysler sources say.

Porsche: Boxster is the cheapest model in the future

MONTE CARLO -- Porsche has no plans to sell a car costing less than the Boxster, according to the automaker's head of sales and marketing.

"To build a Porsche for 30,000 euros currently doesn't fit our brand," Bernhard Maier told the Automotive News Europe Congress in Monaco today. "The extraordinary purchase experience is not for free and the entry price is currently covered with the Boxster and in the future by the Macan."

General Motors has applied to register Electra as a trademark, according to the database of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The company had two previous Electra trademarks associated with the Buick division that expired. The first trademark dates from 1967 and the second was issued in 1989.

Return of IndyCar on the Michigan International Speedway

The Izod IndyCar Series is looking for a date, and Michigan International Speedway is ready to renew its relationship with open-wheel racing.

IndyCar earlier this week announced that it had canceled its race scheduled for Aug. 19 in China and that it is looking to replace the event on the schedule this fall. Several tracks were rumored to be among those considered to replace China, including Texas Motor Speedway, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen International and Phoenix International Raceway.
