Ford Mondeo is as a driver’s car with eco credentials.

The Ford Mondeo has been declared the UK's greenest family car by WHATCAR? for the second year running.

The 1.6-liter Ford Mondeo TDCi ECOnetic is the magazine’s segment winner, thanks to an official combined fuel economy figure of 65.7 imperial mpg and CO2 emissions of 114g/km – meaning owners pay road tax of only £30 ($49) a year.
The WHATCAR? magazine highlighted the Ford Mondeo as a driver’s car with eco credentials.

“The Ford Mondeo is deservedly a winner for the second year running,” said Chas Hallett, What Car? editor-in-chief. “It’s a great family car and does everything What Car? expects a green family car to do. It might be five years old, but it’s still the best in its class because it offers the best combination of practicality, driver involvement, performance and low environmental impact.”

The magazine’s green jurors selected the 115PS Ford Mondeo’s Zetec series as offering the best blend of affordability and equipment, including climate control, cruise control and Bluetooth phone connectivity as standard.

Mark Ovenden, Ford Britain managing director, who collected the award, said: “The Ford Mondeo remains a favorite thanks to style, comfort and its responsive fuel-efficient engines. I’m delighted that our latest powertrains in the Ford Mondeo have again caught the eye of What Car? and are making its green family car award our own.”
